Blue Forest Art Glass Sculpture

$1,250.00

Straddling the borders of the Akita and Aomori prefectures lies Japan's Shirakami Sanchi mountain range. In this handcrafted glass sculpture, hues of vibrant blue, turquoise, and gold are pieced together to evoke its peaceful forests, dappled with light. Iridized, transparent, and opaque glass form thin beech trees that rise from around the startling blue of Aoike pond in the Juniko. To make this piece, glass sheets are designed, fired in a kiln, then cut into strips and arranged together. A custom steel stand is included for display. Due to the unique creation process, each sculpture will vary slightly in color and design.
